2022 Speaker Announcements are Under-Way

A New Crop of Great Speakers and Ideas

It's that time -- time to start announcing our TEDxOshkosh speakers for 2022. Here's a quick summary (with links to learn more) of the first three we've announced:

Ignacio Enriquez Jr. - In Case of Emergency, Listen

The speaker, both a crisis negotiator, and a mental health clinician, will share his experience that, when facing a crisis – or just in normal day-to-day interaction -- appropriately slowing down, delaying overt action, and starting with focused, critical listening is a much more effective way to resolve a crisis or problem..  Learn more...

Justin Hamm - The American Midwest: A Story in Poems

This talk asks the question, "Is 'flyover country' an appropriate moniker for the region?" then sets out to answer that question through inspection of the overlooked or the avoided: rust; thunderstorms; work; everyday people doing everyday things; politics; social class; et cetera.  Learn more...

Steve Toll - What Is An Inch? The Hidden Science of Measurement

What is an inch? Everyone can give a rough idea of it, but who can actually define what it is? The science of measurement is all around us and used in almost every facet of life, however, few know the underlying science behind it, and fewer still pause to appreciate how important accurate measurement is in our world. COVID-19 Protocol Established for TEDxOshkosh 2021

Participant Health is Our First Priority

Because the TEDxOshkosh team cares about the health of all participants, that of their family and friends, and that of our communities, we have, working in collaboration with our event facility, established a number of protocols for everyone participating in TEDxOshkosh 2021, including audience, speakers, and our production team.

Requirements to Participate in TEDxOshkosh 2021 (as of 9/17/2021)

  1. Masks, covering nose and mouth, are to be worn at all times, except when speaking on-stage, eating, or drinking AND
  2. Either proof of a complete COVID vaccination series OR a negative rapid antigen or PCR test within 48 hours of entry to the theater - to be shown when checking-in at the theater

We recognize that some may find masks undesirable, or may have concerns about the vaccine, yet we feel these protocols strike a very reasonable position to protect all who will participate in TEDxOshkosh 2021.

NOTE: Due to ongoing changes in the nature of COVID-19, this protocol is subject to change at any time. Please refer to our COVID-19 Protocol page for the most current information.
